7th President of the Republic of Zambia
“Together, we can build a prosperous Zambia where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to our nation's development.”

My fellow Zambians, it is with deep humility and profound gratitude that I address you as your President. Our nation stands at a pivotal moment in history, where the choices we make today will determine the future we leave for generations to come. Together, we have embarked on a journey of transformation—one rooted in transparency, accountability, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of every Zambian. Let us continue to work hand in hand, with unity of purpose and strength of spirit, to build a Zambia where prosperity is shared, opportunities are abundant, and every citizen can realize their full potential. Our challenges are significant, but our resolve is stronger. With your continued support and collective effort, we shall overcome every obstacle and achieve the prosperous, just, and democratic nation we all envision.
A journey of dedication, resilience, and commitment to democratic values
Won the presidential election with a historic and decisive margin, securing over 2.8 million votes and defeating the incumbent in a peaceful democratic transition. His victory brought renewed hope for economic reform, anti-corruption measures, and a return to democratic governance. The election was widely praised internationally as free and fair, marking a significant moment in Zambia's democratic journey and demonstrating the power of peaceful political change in Africa.

Served as President of the United Party for National Development (UPND), leading the opposition with unwavering commitment despite facing numerous challenges. During this period, he championed democratic values, advocated for economic transformation, and consistently spoke out against corruption and mismanagement. His persistent advocacy for better governance and economic policies resonated with millions of Zambians who sought change, building a strong grassroots movement that would eventually lead to electoral victory.

First elected as Member of Parliament, marking the official beginning of his political career in national service. This milestone represented a transition from private sector success to public service, driven by a desire to contribute to national development and address the economic challenges facing ordinary Zambians. His parliamentary work focused on economic policy, financial management, and advocating for reforms that would benefit the broader population, establishing his reputation as a knowledgeable and principled legislator.
Built a highly successful career in business and economics, working across multiple sectors including agriculture, finance, and consulting. His entrepreneurial ventures demonstrated exceptional business acumen and deep understanding of economic principles. This experience provided invaluable insights into the challenges facing Zambian businesses and the broader economy, while also developing the leadership skills and strategic thinking that would later inform his approach to national governance and economic policy-making.

"Our vision is a Zambia where every citizen has equal opportunity, where corruption is defeated, and where prosperity is shared by all."
